Review for Beyond Pink Spokane, Spokane, WA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Beyond Pink Spokane is a for purpose "fun raiser" that provides funds for local women who could not otherwise afford to have advanced risk assessment thermal imaging, aka thermography. Beyond Pink has one event a year, the 2nd Friday of October. It is a designer bra fashion show with live and silent auctions. This years event is October 10, 2014 at the Spokane Convention Center. Beyond Pink is the most fun you could have...saving a life!

Today's thermography can help to monitor breast health providing information on current and future risk of breast cancer. This is an adjunct tool to mammography that can greatly increase mammographys ability to detect disease. As a unique test of physiology, thermography provides information no other testing can. With gray scale images we can see vascularity, which indicates the amount of estrogen in breast tissue. Estrogen dominance is considered a high risk factor for breast cancer and thermography can indicate when hormonal testing is imperative. Because breast tissue can produce estrogen locally, estrogen levels can actually be up to 50 times the amount shown on serum levels. Thermography can see disease at the inflammatory level up to 10 years before a mass would be detected by mammography. Because thernography is radiation free, painless and non-contact, it is ideal for young women ages 20 - 40, where mammography is not generally indicated.

Thermography has been FDA approved as an adjunct breast cancer screening tool to mammography since 1982. It is not yet regulated, so it's important to go to a center that is recognized with high standards.
