Review for International Fund for Animal Welfare, Inc., Yarmouth Port, MA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

IFAW is simply a wonderful organization. Like many other people, I have a soft spot in my heart for animals (being a devoted pet person as well). So it pains me deeply to learn of instances in which animals suffer greatly, often at the hands of people - through abuse, exploitation, or neglect, by illegal hunting and poaching, or as the result of natural disasters, in which pet owners, farmers, zoo owners and others are compelled to abandon their dependent pets, farm animals or zoo animals to the elements, forcing them to fend for themselves.

Obviously domesticated animals, who have lived their entire lives in captivity, dependent upon humans for their care and protection, are utterly helpless once they've been released into the wild - or into the city streets. Many of them die horrible, heartbreaking deaths due to starvation, disease, and/or traumatic injury.

IFAW is a most committed and effective advocate for these animals that cannot advocate for themselves. I've been on the IFAW email list for several years, and as I read the various news pieces, I am never less than deeply moved by IFAW's compassion, dedication and expertise, as they raise funds and direct relief efforts, worldwide, to provide food, water, shelter, veterinary attention - and new homes for our animal friends.

I find IFAW to be a most worthy organization, pursuing a most noble - and largely unappreciated - cause. It will be my pleasure to donate funds to them again in the near future. I urge many others to do so as well.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I can't think of a thing.
