Review for Institute Of Electrical And Electronics Engineers Inc, Piscataway, NJ, USA

Rating: 1 stars

I was a long time (25 year) volunteer for the IEEE including the Rochester Section. See: http://z.ziobro.info/ieee-bio

In 2012, I observed the Rochester Section leadership violating IEEE Bylaws and making materially false or misleading statements in an effort to preserve their entrenched hold on the Section's assets (~$200k!).

My report eventually went to the President (2013) and the reply I got back was that Senior IEEE Leadership can decide when and where Bylaws need to be followed. Following that some members submitted a Complaint to the NY Attorney General. It contains names so I do not post a link.

In response to the Complaint the IEEE involved "Senior Management" in the Section's affairs. In 2013, the IEEE again violated their own Bylaws plus the IEEE Constitution and NY Not-forProfit Laws.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

At minimum, follow the NY Law under which the organization is incorporated.

Review for Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum, Rochester, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

There are two transportation museums located next door to each other. They are the New York Museum of Transportation and this one. As a member of either one you can ride the trains for free. They cooperate but the GV&R RR Museum has the cool locomotives and rolling stock. If you are a rail fan this is definitely the museum for you.

The museum goes beyond being a showcase for historical artifacts and includes social meeting where rail fans meet rail professionals with great presentations.

I never imagined I'd wind up working on the big diesels but here I am. It is a great experience where you see your effort pay off!

Nothings like seeing the light in the kids eyes when they ride the rails. And yes the adults enjoy it also!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Merge the two museums.
