Review for Urban Ed Inc, Washington, DC, USA

Rating: 4 stars

Urban Ed has given me a second start on life in the sense of having a career. These days and time is it almost a requirement to have a degree or some training above high school. If not for Urban Ed I could’ve never afforded to go to school because I’m a parent and worked 2 jobs, but with the flexible schedule and the one on one time with Ms William I was able to attend classes. This has made a great impact on my life, being able to go out and apply for a job that I actually would like to work for. I don’t just have to accept any job or pay because now I’m considered a professional. This has lifted my spirits immensely, even though I know I’m still considered the bottom of the barrel but if I didn’t have a certificate that I worked for it could be worse. Just the feeling that I worked for this all that studying and making class after work is really paying off. So I tell everyone I know that is having a hard time finding work or a career call Urban Ed. It was a pleasure and still is knowing Ms Williams and what Urban Ed has to offer.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

From home with family members that need pc work done, the first job interviews I went on, I was asked a lot of questions that I was prepared for.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

It was like going to a second home, that I got respect, encouragement, and a network of individuals that was a tight knit group. She had professionals come in and talk about their experiences and career expectations.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Courteous, kind, helpful, and genuine.
