Review for Reel American Heroes Foundation, Woodbridge, VA, USA
The Reel American Heroes Foundation is by far the best therapy I have encountered since my medical retirement from the USAF in 2011. Not only did the RAHF provide a day of therapy through fishing, they ensured that it could continue for many years to follow. This was not only accomplished by providing gear and tackle to every US Military Veteran in attendance, but also through the wonderful paring of service members with anglers; eager to share their priceless knowledge of angling techniques. The therapeutic benefits of this one day are able carry on due to the commitment of the RAHF. The RAHF also made clear its intent to accommodate any injury a Veteran has received during their time in service, leaving no man or woman behind. Before attending this event I viewed the RAHF as just another non-profit organization, but it honestly felt more like a family; aiding in my recovery and that of all Veterans. No longer do I have to deal with the limitations of my injury from military service in Iraq. I now have an escape and new found hope thanks to the Reel American Heroes Foundation.
