I was introduced to this organization last year when my husband was a participant in the tournament for the first time. The amazing treatment that both he and all of the other veterans received was exactly what our veterans deserve. At the event all veterans are put above everyone else as they should be and are treated with respect and great-fullness for their sacrifices. One thing I would like to point out about this organization is their ability to recognize all veterans and not just those wounded in Combat like many organizations do. I have a family friend who had mentioned a few weeks before the tournament that he had been turned away from multiple events because although he is severely disabled and is a veteran who was wounded during service, he was not wounded during combat. I suggested he try this event and the smile on his face at the end of the day after the event was a reward in itself. This organization doesn't turn anyone away and treats all veterans the way they truly deserve. Another amazing point about this organization is they go out of their way to accommodate every veteran no matter their circumstances to get them back out on the water. I had the opportunity to volunteer this year and I have always been around the military and exposed to the life, but some of the volunteers had not and the humbling experience serving our vets was such positive contribution to our local society. This organization brings veterans and local residents together with the love of fishing to show our veterans that we are here for them and we appreciate them at a time when they may feel very under appreciated for their sacrifices.
