Review for Inner-City Computer Stars Foundation, Chicago, IL, USA
In my experience, i.c.stars has provided me with an opportunity to realize my potential and has given me a means through technology to really give back. I had absolutely no technology experience what so ever and within 4 months, I had worked as a web developer for a non-for-profit, pitched a business plan to a group of venture capitalist, and was the lead database specialist on a project to enhance an inner office email system with a user interface for United Stationers. I also had the opportunity to go into MY OWN community and choose an organization to work wih. All of this from a single mother whose first and only job was a cashier at Jewel Food Store! I now work as a Development Analyst at one of the top health insurance companies in the nation! i.c.stars has offered 100s of people just like me the opportunity to shatter perceptions, become change agents, and uplift our communities.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
realizing my leadership potential. Before i.c.stars, I knew I wanted to give back but was unsure of how I would do it. This organizations gave me the tools to reach out and give back to my community.
