My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Cameras For Kids Foundation Inc, Deerfield Bch, FL, USA
I first learned about this organization about three years ago, after reading about it in a magazine article. I was so impressed with founder Betsey Chesler and her incredible vision to help foster kids find their artistic side and create something they could be proud of. I knew I had to get involved.
I started first as a volunteer helping plan events, and last year I started assistant teaching some of the photography classes. Some of these kids have never believed they were good at anything. To see firsthand how the kids light up as they discover that they can become artists through photography has been so rewarding.
It's been even more rewarding to see the kids' reaction to their artwork hanging in local art galleries. This organization gives children – many who have never had a role model – someone to look up to and something to aspire to.
I am so proud to be involved in this organization and will continue to help it any way that I can.
