Review for Jewish Farm School, Philadelphia, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I went on an Alternate Spring Break with Jewish Farm School in San Diego, CA in Spring 09. It was a really great experience. I was not expecting to connect Judaism to farming, but I am now more aware of environmental and food issues and how they affect me as a young Jewish person. Nati was a fantastic and knowledgeable leader. I will always remember that trip; it forever changed the way I think about food!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the way I understand food issues and even how I make dinner each night.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

What I learned and the friends I made.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

very knowledgeable and passionate. They were easy to connect to.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Start its own farm or many throughout the country and reach millions of people!

Ways to make it better...

Some of the discussions were a little forced and numerous, though they were all interesting.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

I'm sure funding is always hard to come by, but they tried not to let that show and subsidized a great deal of the trip even though it was a bit expensive for us.

One thing I'd also say is that...

It was such a great experience. I am glad I got a chance to work with them!
