MMI is a unique opportunity to reach out to the undeserved offering holistic help in health and the teaching of self-awareness and self-care. I have had the privilege of being part of the leadership teams in several of the MMI served countries including the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, Guatemala, Ecuador, and Ghana amongst others over more than 20 years.
From a close-up view, I can attest to the careful and cautious use of donors’ and volunteers’ time and resources, given to the cause of Christ in touching the poor.
It’s a time when very hard work combines with much fun, much adaptation, grace and flexibility contributing to personal growth and strengthening of character as a person and servant of God.
The personal and professional relationships fostered locally and internationally through this joint effort is something hard to match through other venues. There is something about self-giving and service to others which binds people together and draws us all closer to each other and to Christ.
