My husband and I are the parents of a 13 year old boy with a neurological disorder. Our family has been attending Adam's Camp for the past nine years. Each year, our son returns home with new abilities that he/we did not know he had. His speech has progressed so much as well as his physical abilities since he started camp. He went from a shy child to one that will talk your ear off !He used to be afraid to try new things, and would quietly watch the other kids. Now, he is ready to try something new, and even if it is scary. Last year, he did the zip line for the first time, and was afraid. This year, he got right on it with no problem, and loved it!
I have been so impressed with the therapists that work with the kids at Adam's Camp. They are there because they want to be there, and they are just as excited about the accomplishments of our son as we are! I also have really enjoyed the parent conferences, which are really informative. Adam's Camp is a wonderful way to meet lots of families who experience the same things that we do day to day.
Our experience far exceeds anything we ever expected for our son, and we plan to return every year.
