Women's ENews was the first publication to pay me a decent wage for my writing. At a time when most publications, even reputed national ones, were shameless in asking writers to write for free, or for "prestige," my editors at Women's ENews paid me a competitive rate that encouraged me to report and write about subjects that were important.
