Review for Children of the Americas (COTA), Lexington, KY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have worked with Children of the Americas for the last 25 years. It has been a pleasure to serve the women and children of Guatemala throughout the years. The organization has changed many lives and provided the gift of good health through volunteered services.

I am honored to serve as a volunteer for this amazing organization. It is both humbling and inspiring to see how they change the lives of the women and children in Guatemala. They give the gift of good health. The volunteers are the hardest working, most dedicated group I have ever worked with.

It has been an honor to travel and work with this wonderful organization. I have found a place to park my heart with the warm and welcoming people of Guatemala. I look forward to returning in January of 2020 to continue our good work on behalf of the women and children.

Children of the Americas is an all volunteer 501(c)3 organization that has changed the lives of thousands of indigent women and children in Guatemala. Each January, a large team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, clinic physicians, nurses, interpreters, and other medical professionals travel to a different rural area of the country to provide free medical and surgical services to indigent women and children. It has been a pleasure and an honor to be a part of this wonderful organization for the past 22 years.

I have been working with Children of the Americas since 1996. Throughout the years, I have watched it grow and mature into the amazing organization that it is today. It is a pleasure and honor to be a small part of the big differences we are making in the lives of children and their mothers in Guatemala.

I have had the honor to serve this organization since 1996, as a board member, a host parent, and a volunteer on the teams. My decision to become involved has been one of the most positive and influential decisions of my life. It has not only given me a better appreciation of the culture of a beautiful country, but also an understanding of the challenges that face people in all developing countries. That appreciation has changed not only my life, but the lives of my family and friends, who have seen for themselves the importance of service to others in need. I am humbled and honored to work alongside the other COTA volunteers in our efforts to improve the lives of the women and children of Guatemala.
