Review for Wounded Warrior Project, Jacksonville, FL, USA
Wounded Warrior Northern California has definitely exceeded the standard. They have helped me to become a mentor for other warriors and have always been very helpful to me and my family. I was wounded in AFG in 2003, have been an Alumni for over ten years and haven't really been involved in the activities until recently. I was involved in a project Odyssey in Santa Barbara California that was absolutely amazing. I have made several great friends through WWP because of that experience. I was able to reconnect with like-minded service-members and get the support I need. In addition to the Odyssey I am was certified as a peer mentor, gone whitewater rafting, been more active in the public and have been able to experience a sense of closure through reconnecting with other service members and soldiers I was in the hospital with. Recently I found a service-member who was homeless and needed emergency help getting into a stable situation. The staff at Wounded Warrior Project Nor-cal have aided this service member in identifying a positive plan of action to get him into a better situation. I have recently realized that this organization does very good things for GWOT veterans and more, even if people out there have nothing but negative things to say. They have done a great job helping me and several of my veteran friends.
