Review for Jacobs Ladder Job Center, Inc., Charlotte, NC, USA
I began volunteering with Jacob's Ladder in November of 2009. I was looking for a way to give back and I can honestly say that I have received much more than I have given. The staff and the volunteers are truly committed to helping the participants find meaningful employment. From the classes offered to the bus passes and gas cards that participants are eligible to receive to the interview clothes they are outfitted with through A Perfect Fit, every aspect of their service is first-rate. Participants are encouraged to stay in touch with Jacob's Ladder through their first six months of employment. The staff and volunteers are available to help them with any issues that arise, so that they just don't get a job but are able to keep one as well. Every week, volunteers come to speak to the classes to share their experiences and their expertise. To have so many volunteers who are willing to come in (many on a monthly basis) is a testament to the strength and character of this organization. I am proud to be affiliated with Jacob's Ladder.
