Review for Big Cat Rescue, Corp., Odessa, FL, USA
In my opinion, Carole and Howard Baskin, multi-millionaires, have created the biggest scam possible to have people donate to support their 'habitual hoarding habit' of exotic cats. By supporting bans on these animals, they create for themselves a 'roadside zoo' with no competition. What's supposed to be 'sanctuary' is not considered a Florida sanctuary by FFW due to the amount of advertising and heavy traffic; with possibilities for tours anytime night or day.
This facility does not meet standards and thee owners guilty of 26 VIOLATIONS of the Animal Welfare Act. That statement right there demonstrates the biggest reason for such a poor rating.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
SHUT IT DOWN and move the animals to better facilities where people know what they are doing including isolation for incoming animals and how to provide properly for sic animals. Built on and old landfill with the animals receiving water pumped in from the old retention pond. Considering the numerous deaths, the highest of any facility of this type, mostly from cancer and tumors; it is likely from contaminated soil and the water provided to the animals

Review for Professional Animal Retirement Center, Albion, IN, USA
I am extremely disappointed in Black Pine Animal Sanctuary-The mission stated here has changed to suit the need to find new donations from Animal Rights Extremists-They encourage boycotts and bans on animal ownership now-This is a political agenda.
They themselves rather hypocritical by having tours and allowing people to roam the facility-This is considered 'exploitation of animals' yet state they are against anyone else doing the same.
Apparently, it's now all about the money and not the animal at this facility-Extremely disappointed. I give it -0- stars but required to give it a rating and the only reason I gave it -1- star.
Attacking others on FB does nothing to help a single animal.

Change their political policy and if they want to be considered a bonified 'sanctuary' and against showing of animals, it needs to be a closed facility.

topcatsroar should provide some proof of their unfounded allegations. Encouraging people to make informed decisions is not a call to "boycott" anything. This organization has no political involvement. Zero. Providing links to relevant proposed legislation so the public can make informed decisions is hardly "political". Rather, we see it as "educational". Black Pine doesn't and has never stood against "anyone else" who allows the public to visit and see animals in captivity. What Black Pine DOES stand firmly against are those who continue to do so under the guise of "rescue" work at the same time they are breeding and selling more animals, and/or putting both animals and the public at risk through irresponsible activities. Thousands of dangerous wild animals are born and kept in cages every year in America, the vast majority of which having nothing to do with helping to save their endangered counterparts living in the wild. False allegations, lies, and smear campaigns are a part of our world, which is one of several measures of our success as we continue this fight to protect animals and people.
