I had the very sad experience of having to put my beloved Ruby to sleep on December 12, 2013. I was searching for a way to combine my love of dogs with a program that does good and from a selfish standpoint relief myself of the loss that I felt over Ruby. I was very luck to find K9s for warriors and have been volunteering about 8-9 times a month. The work that they do, the stories that I have heard and the success stories that I have heard about and seen make me very proud of this fantastic organization.
The volunteering has been a blessing for me in many ways and I can only hope that the little that I can give in my time in some way pays the program back for the happiness they have given me and the happiness they have brought in my life. Having 10 to 15 canines to play with and interact with allowed me to adopt a dog myself from a rescue, which I do not think I could have done without the interaction with the K9 staff.
