I am a long time animal rescuer/foster parent of dogs, but became aware of horses needing help through friends. The first rescue I was referred to turned out to be less reputable, working with kill buyers in Pennsylvania. So when a friend told me about Beauty's Haven, I made plans for a visit. It was about a 4.5 hour drive but upon my arrival, I was greeted by volunteers and then Theresa Batchelor. I found a facility totally devoted to the animals, with the Batchelor family often not providing for themselves as their united passion was saving starved or ill horses, and either restoring them to health and adoption, or providing for the life time care. Sometimes, Theresa helps them cross to the Rainbow Bridge, but it absolutely amazing to see the many she brings back from the brink of death to restored health. Based upon my visit, and communication with Theresa over the past seven years, I can attest that every dollar donated goes for an animal's care. We have one of God's angels right here on Earth, and her name is Theresa Batchelor!
