Review for Regis University, Denver, CO, USA
My 10 year old son attended his first year at the Porter-Billups summer program. He completed the program and enjoyed the opportunities given. However, the following year we received a welcome letter for him to attend the upcoming summer. The very first day of him attending I was told he was not invited back to the program due to his personality not fitting their quote on quote leadership expectations. I received not a letter, email or phone call advising me of this information. Ms. Hassler was very cold and made every excuse why he was not invited back nor did she care to explain more. I was in total shock. I had high hopes for this program. Was it not designed to encourage the youth whom are doing well academically and displaying good behavior?

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Inform parents under the circumstances their children are extremely shy or do not fit the Porter-Billups leadership guidelines they may not be selected the next year. Hire staff members who genuinely care about the students succeeding.
