Review for Project Sanctuary, Pagosa Springs, CO, USA
Project Sanctuary from Granby Colorado is dedicated to reconnecting military members with their families through week long retreats at the Snow Mountain Ranch Y and other fun family events. We are not associated with the organization but witnessed its work while enjoying a small family gathering of our own several months ago. Having served for over 30 years in the military, I recognized a fellow soldier and had a brief chat with him. He was back from a deployment and was struggling with financial issues, reconnecting with his children, and integrating back into society. Later I saw him in a fantastic floor hockey session with his son and both were having a wonderful time.
Since then I have done some research on the mission, goals and successes of Project Sanctuary. I think their website explains it best so I will leave it to you to decide for yourself - projectsanctuary.us
I will only add that I think any organization that takes no government funding, has administration expenses of only 3% or so and provides these wonderful services to our veterans is worthy of being ranked as one of the very top organization to receive monetary support.
