Review for Hamilton Planetarium Scholarship Fund Inc., Staten Island, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Provides scholarships from $1K to $3.5K for students interested in entering the planetarium field as professionals. With over 3000 planetariums in the USA there is a serious need to upgrade the professionalism in people working in this field. The Fund also advises on courses to be taken and various technical matters in the field.
Past recipients have been responsible for building the first planetarium in Kenya, and are working in planetariums in Texas, Ohio, Florida, New York, etc.
In addition to the cash award, recipients get copies of four astronomy books written by the founder of the scholarship useful to those writing new planetarium shows.

This provides scholarships to anyone from a high school student to a grandmother who wants to gain training in working in the political field, whether as a lobbyist, aid to an elected, or even running for elected office. Past recipients include the President of a community group, and staff members of City Council and state legislature members.
