Julie Weintraub, her husband, Steve and the staff at Hands Across the Bay have been instrumental to the success of Wheelchairs 4 Kids. We became a nonprofit in 2011. One of the first calls I made was to Julie Weintraub, a pillar in our community to ask for her support. I did not know her, but she took the time to speak with me and encourage me. She has been a mentor ever since. Hands Across the Bay chose Wheelchairs 4 Kids as a benefiting charity for their Annual Dancing with the Stars fundraiser. That was our first big sponsorship check and truly got us on our feet. Since then, they have donated beautiful jewelry items for our annual Wheely Good Time Event and Julie and Steve are the "Judges" at our Jail and Bail event every year raising hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years. They are always there to help. They have touched the lives of so many of our kids and changed them for the better. We are just one of many nonprofits that Julie and Hands Across the Bay impact on a regular basis. I could never begin to thank them enough.

Bacchus is a great organization that gives back to so many local nonprofits. Small nonprofits don't have the funding or personnel to put together a lot of fundraisers without cutting into their time to work on their missions. As the Executive Director of Wheelchairs 4 Kids I can attest that it is very difficult to raise funds and take care of the kids. That is where an organization like Bacchus makes such a difference. They allow us to spend our time working with families, physical therapists, equipment providers, contractors, etc. to ensure that we are getting the best equipment and home modifications for our families while they work hard on fundraising efforts. They are amazing!
