Review for Coastal Pet Rescue Inc, Savannah, GA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I was looking for dogs to adopt online for a while and I often refreshed the pages to see if I was drawn to a certain dog. I was looking for a best friend, running buddy, and guardian. After checking multiple sites over a span of a couple of weeks, I saw a picture of atlas and he was everything I was looking for in a dog. He was young, handsome, muscular, and was part golden which is always a loving, smart, and kind breed. I immediately put in my application for him and made phone calls to make sure no one else could get this dog before me. One of CPR volunteers named Carolyn soon emailed me telling me the next steps of the adoption process and that I was first on the list to adopt atlas. I was more excited than a 5 year old at Christmas! I set up my house visit and everything went perfect, the only part now was to wait till he got neutered so I could officially take him home with me and call him mine! But then plans took a major turn for the worse, atlas testesd positive for heartworm and I was devastated when I heard the news. I knew I wouldn't be able to adopt him anymore because heartworm treatment is so expensive. I called Carolyn and started crying on the phone and she comforted me and said CPR might be able to help. Much to my pleasure, CPR said they would pay for the heartworm treatment if I still wanted to adopt him. This was the best news I've heard in a long time. I didn't hesitate when I said I still wanted atlas because I fell in love with that dog and CPR was paying for the entire treatment for me. I was so grateful for their help because I wouldn't have been able to adopt him without it. Now atlas is still going through the 2 month treatment and he is the best dog! I'm so grateful for CPR for helping me adopt the dog of my dreams and l speak highly of this organization The volunteers are so kind and understanding and I still keep in touch with Carolyn even after the adoption. She texts me often to check on atlas and that just shows how much CPR really cares about helping pets find a forever and loving home.
