I began as a simple volunteer. Just helping out st an adoption event here and there; however, I was soon drawn in by the cheerfulness, enthusiasm, and just plain joy and love for animals of the fellow volunteers that surrounded me at these events. I began to show up more and more just to be surrounded by this positive energy and to be buoyed by the knowledge that we were working together to do such good work - saving the adoptable pets in our community. Eventually I was asked to be a foster, and I cherish all the little lives I've helped to save. I was then asked to take a leadership position within the group. It sounded a bit scary at first, but as I moved into that level, I realized something; all the leaders help one another and work together. CPR isn't a group of disparate responsibilities who meet on occasion to see who's doing what; it's a cohesive group who connect, join, work together, and do whatever it takes to Rescue and find homes for little pets who'd otherwise be left behind. We help the elderly left in shelters because they've just become too expensive, the pets abandoned because it's too much trouble to take them along on a move, and the pets subjected to cruelty too sad to mention. We take these lost souls, give them a piece of our own, and make them whole again. Then, we release them to a forever home. It's hard to place a review on such efforts, but I'll take a shot at it with five stars and two thumbs up.

CPR provides a valuable service to the community by providing foster homes to adoptable felines and canines, ones pulled from the local animal control and humane societies, as well as those droppoed off at local vet offices and surrendered by their owners. This often includes expensive and timmely medical treatment, all of which is candidly prsented on their webpage. I believe this not only informs the public on the animals up for adoption, but on the animal welfare and health issues in the community as well, especially with regards to whatIis a treatable condition and not one automatically warranting euthanasia. Several cases of heartworm in our canines and a litter of kittens with calicuvirus are an example, all of whom found loving forever homes. Saving lives is vital, but changing attitudes and providing ann education is necessary to truly see change in anyllong lasting form in the community. I believe cpr is doing this, and more.
