Review for Option Institute and Fellowship, Sheffield, MA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I think this is my 3rd review for the Option Institute - a place that literally CHANGED my life for the better. Programs have been online since COVID hit us all - and you know what? The teaching, the support, the love from the amazing teachers is still just as palpable.
I was living a life that was just going through the motions. I thought things were fine but they weren't GREAT. Now they are. Because the Option Institute has helped me learn how to take charge of my beliefs and therefore my actions and my feelings. I don't blame others or the situation anymore. I don't see things as good or bad - everything can be an opportunity for growth. I'm not perfect at this - but I now have something wonderful to fall back on when I CHOOSE to "do sad" - and I know how to help myself get up and fly again. Please consider taking a program (online) from the Option Institute. You will not be disappointed. You will come away having for sure, learned something valuable and new!

I started attending the Option Institute in 2003 - when my husband and I went to a SonRise Start Up program in order to learn to assist our child with autism. It was life changing - not only for our son who just soared after we learned how to help him - but also for us. We came away happier, more confident in ourselves as experts about our boy and ready to take on the world. Then he got better.....so we went back. We took a Parenting course, a Couples course (being offered again in 2019 - Yahoo!!), and many more. In fact I have just returned from a week long stay that I believe was the 27th course I have taken at the Option Institute. Going to this heaven on earth is a gift I give myself regularly now. Each time I am there I learn more and more about myself. I learn how to take responsibility for my life, my issues and stop blaming others. I am NOT a victim to what happens to me. What happens to me in EVERY sense of the word is an opportunity I can use to grow and reach the stars. I love this place. I love the teachers and the people I meet there who are all striving to live better lives - no matter what their circumstances. And I love who I am now. Remember Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz? There's no place like home? Maybe - for some that is true. For me, I will shout it from the highest mountain - THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE THE OPTION INSTITUTE. Go - feel it for yourself. You will NOT regret it!!!

I am a doctor who works with children and families dealing with autism and other difficult situations. I am also the parent of a child now recovered from autism. The Option Institute and the Autism Treatment Center of America (part of the Option Institute) is largely responsible for that. I came to learn about how to interact with my son - in 2003. It was life changing not only because he responded to my "new way" of living and interacting with him, but also because I learned how very in control of my life and my happiness I was - no matter what was happening to me. I continue to attend adult programs at the Option Institute now and it is the greatest gift I could ever give myself. To work with teachers and peers who also want to live happy lives, no matter what life throws at us - what a joy. I have never before found a place that offers me tools like this - to cope and thrive in the face of anything. I will forever be grateful I found this place. Best money I could ever spend - giving back to the Option Institute.
