GHI worked with us at OECD in a global school seismic safety initiative starting in 2003. GHI assisted in preparing the ground for the OECD Recommendation concerning Guidelines on Earthquake Safety in Schools. The meeting of international experts that led to the development of this Recommendation was a ground-breaking event, and in the intervening years GHI has remained a valued and respected voice in DRR. On a personal level, Brian Tucker and Tom Tobin's commitment, leadership and enthusiasm was an inspiration.
