Review for Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, Fort Wayne, IN, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2001. I stopped by their office because I was scared. I stopped in the air lock between the two doors where I found some pamphlets. As I was looking through them, someone from the office invited me in and asked what they could do for me. I told them I didn't know and that I was JUST diagnosed. He knew I was concerned. He gave me a tour and showed me all they things they offeded. More than I could list here. As it turns out, the one thing they offered that I did use was a case of Ensure protein drink. My radiation made it difficult to eat and the Ensure helped. They are great people who do care. I still donate because they did so much for me!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

My own treatment. I've sent others to them who were going through cancer or were caregivers.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

keep it the way it is. Those with cancer appreciate talking to someone who also had or has cancer. Many of the people I delt with were patients or survivors themselves.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Compassion they had for my situation.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

caring and compassionate.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

do even more of what it does now. It could increase education for cancer prevention and care.

Ways to make it better...

I can't think of anything!

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

raising funds to promote cancer care and cancer prevention.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I appreciate everything they did for me and I suspect there are many others in the Fort Wayne area that agree.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2002

Role:  Client Served & I got better! Eight years later still no cancer.
