My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for North Texas Food Bank, Plano, TX, USA
Our team worked alongside two other volunteer groups during an afternoon shift at NTFB. It was very rewarding to see the camaraderie and enthusiasm on everyone's part. My stint helping at the loading dock was strenuous, as we stacked hundreds of 24-packs of Propel vitamin water that had toppled from pallets. But it was satisfying to get it done so that the regular warehouse workers could continue being productive. The afternoon teams together packed up about 17,000 meals. The NTFB fulfills a tremendous need in the community and I look forward to working there again.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
helping to pack 21,000 pounds of food, or 17,000 meals, in an afternoon.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
hire more staff.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the spirit of teamwork that is so readily fostered by them.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
friendly, helpful, and had a great sense of humor.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
expand its warehouse facilities and its staff, particularly the loading dock resources.
Ways to make it better...
we had been told to bring work gloves.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
getting enough labor involved, both permanent and volunteer. There seems to be ample food in the warehouse, but not enough bodies to sort and distribute it quickly.
One thing I'd also say is that...
I'm proud of the work my team helped accomplish with NTFB.
