Review for Bethany Community Ministries, Pittsburgh, PA, USA
The Board members, volunteers and staff have all had a long-time association with this ministry. Most of the people associated with Diakonia live in Homewood or neighboring communities such as Wilkinsburg and Penn Hills. Programs like Master's Kitchen and the Summer Youth Program have made a signficant impact in the lives of the individuals they are serving. I am in the third year of leading the Board, and I have served on the Ministry Board for at least seven years. We are able to make a little money go a long way, because we operate with very little overhead. Our ministry space is made available to us through Bethany Baptist Church. Bethany is about to add a worship center on to the facility, which will enable Diakonia to have access to expanded ministry space. If you want your dollar to make a difference, know that this ministry will be responsible and effective in following through.
