Review for Senior Friendship Centers Inc, Sarasota, FL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Friendship Centers is a multi-county, multi-faceted organization that helps older adults and their families navigate the journey of aging with opportunities for social interaction, education, health care and nutrition services as well as respite care and support for caregivers. It employs some 130 people and utilizes the services of some 1,000 volunteers. For the past 41 years it has made a positive difference in the lives of residents of southwest Florida.

Review for Senior Friendship Centers Inc, Sarasota, FL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

After witnessing first-hand the challenges of my parents as they age and learning of the wonderful work of the Friendship Centers, I realized how important this agency is to the health of the community at large. I am now a board member and a donor because I believe my time and talents are put to good use by an organization that is well-run and committed to its mission. The example of service the Friendship Centers has set in southwest Florida is being used across the nation to build effective, efficient networks to address the needs of an aging population.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

see that it's work receives greater recognition so that it could attract more resources to expand its services.
