Review for Hug It Forward Inc, Littleton, CO, USA
There is something "not right" in this organization. While they are doing great work in much needed areas, the leaders of the group seem to be more concerned with how great they are instead of the product they are producing for the communities. I have found them to be very close minded, shutting down great ideas and opportunities if they aren't the ones who came up with them. Part of it is that I believe that the leaders of the organization are simply too young. They haven't had the life experiences that would allow them to expand their minds as to allow the group to grow in new and different directions. Hopefully that will come in time.

Stop saying, "No, we can't do that." Instead say, "I don't know but I'm sure we can find a way."

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent experience with us. We apologize that it did not meet your expectations, and we welcome your feedback, as we are always striving for excellence. We are always grateful to hear suggestions from volunteers about new ideas and opportunities. However, we have limited resources as an organization and we have made a decision to focus on our area of expertise, which is bottle schools. All major decisions, such as implementing new ideas, are made by Hug It Forward’s board of directors in consultation with the board of advisors, as no single board member or trip leader has the authority to implement a new idea or suggestion. Before adopting any new idea, we think it through carefully to ensure that it has a positive outlook on the program as a whole, and that it doesn’t take resources away from our bottle school program. If you or anyone else have ideas that can make Hug It Forward better, we hope that you feel able to share them with the board at info@hugitforward.org. We love hearing feedback, whether positive or negative. Without supporters and volunteers like you, we would not be able to do what we do to serve the communities of Guatemala.
