Review for Homeward Bound of Marin, Novato, CA, USA
Obviously, there is a lot of hard, tedious work to be done at homeless shelters. But at Homeward Bound of Marin, this work, while time consuming, is actually fun. As I learned more about Homeward Bound's extensive programs all centered towards helping give homeless people homes and jobs, I felt welcomed by the all the other volunteers there. Homeward Bound became a fun place to work, with the funny and entertaining volunteers. Every day, I felt good about having a good time that day at Homeward Bound but mostly about helping homeless people in the best way I could---giving not just shelter and food, but helping programs designed for all of their needs specifically, whether it be a place for the mentally ill or families, or a place centered towards getting a job
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
not being ale to tell the kitchen staff from the homeless training for a job. (By the way it's personally, not personnaly.)
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
knowing that I'm helping get homeless people off the streets for good. (I hope)
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
funny and welcoming. At the second day there I already felt like part of the group.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
get some more permanent housing for the families who can't afford houses nowadays.
Ways to make it better...
maybe the work that school volunteers can do was a little more planned out so we could do more (it's not htat it was disorganized, I just thing you could think of some more big things we could do before we get there.)
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
About every month
