Review for North Texas Food Bank, Plano, TX, USA
I have been a volunteer for NTFB for 4 years. I do sorting every other month at the Dallas facility through Lockheed Martin. This is always a fun time. Most of us joke we work harder at the food bank than at work. I do as many events as possible to help the NTFB; however, my favorite is the Taste of the NFL. Last year Lockheed hosted this at the Gaylord Texan. I was assinged to collect donations from patrons having their picture made with Cowboys cheerleaders. Everyone was very generous. The best story I heard that night was from a young teacher. She had made her husband come specifically because it was in support of the NTFB. She told me she teaches in an "inner city" school and was very aware of most of her students needing food. One thing peolpe don't think about is kids during summer. Sometimes the only food they receive is through school. I have had nothing but great experiences with the NTFB. They do a wonderful job!
