Review for Colfax Thrifty Grandmothers, Colfax, WA, USA
I checked my role as "donor" because after many years as a client, I am finally beginning to be able to give back. I am only sorry that they have to pay so much for garbage pick up just because so many people use them as a dumping ground for junk. The Colfax Thrifty Grandmas have been supporting many community needs for many years, not just providing everything from books to clothing at very reasonable rates. I once bought a pair of shoes there for $0.75 that lasted me over six years. Another reviewer seemed upset that they price some things higher, but I have been involved in a few of those cases myself, and I know it was because a valuable collectable antique item had been donated and a local expert advised them to charge more for it. There are many people that shop there that are not needy at all, which is fine, but they are looking for these items for a dollar in order to sell them for personal profit for much more. The Grannies give very generously to the boy scouts, the community fund, and many, many more organizations that need support. Even though they list as having over 36 employees, all but one (last time I checked) are volunteers with no compensation. Thay pay the guy who sorts out junked furniture and other crap and hauls it to the dump. Pretty neat group of people. Colfax loves them.

Try to find them more space, and pay for informative advertisements to let people know what they can accept, and what they are not able to accept.
