Adding a plate to our table has proven to be THE best way for our family to grow. As host mom, I appreciate this opportunity to live with cultural compassion in my own home. My children have the daily practice of sharing their American culture with a teen who wants to learn. And my student is excited to teach us about her home traditions. We gain a new family member each time we host! I'm grateful for this organization and their faithfulness to me and our exchange student.

Start with SHARE! I feel the organization has been helpful, yet not intruding, as a host mom. The level of respect I have been shown as a host home is second to none. The young people are welcomed into homes and expect nothing but friendship. Our family has opened our hearts to SHARE! exchange students since 2002 and each season is a new reason to live life together.

My family chose to volunteer by welcoming a student in 2002. Since then, we are addicted to learning other's cultures and ideas, expanding our knowledge for the world and adding "siblings" to our ever-growing family! We have now welcomed 12 international students over the years. Sharing life with students who are eager to learn about the typical American family is as much a blessing to us as it is to the student.

2008 began our journey of family ministry to children who are orphaned. We have hosted 6 children over the years and invited one child be part of our family forever. I recommend this ministry to any follower of Jesus Christ who is ready to love as Jesus loves.
