Review for A Forever-Home Rescue Foundation, Inc., Chantilly, VA, USA
When I decided to adopt a dog I visited many different rescue organizations and shelters. I was most impressed with AFH's organization. Their dogs were healthy, happy, and well cared for by fosters. Every dog is already in a home, so they have lots of information about the dog's personality before it is adopted. This means they can make sure the dog is a good fit for it's new home. They also have stringent standards and make sure the dog is going to a good home where it has a good chance to live out it's life in health and happiness. Unlike many other organizations, they're also willing to take care of any medical needs that a dog or puppy may have when it comes into AFH. Dogs are not put down because they're sick. They are taken care of and loved until they find their forever home. Since my first dog I've adopted two more dogs from AFH and would never go anywhere else.

Oh, wow, you hit on lots of things in this review! The most important is our philosophy of keeping dogs in foster homes where we can make sure they're fully healthy, and also get to know them as individuals. This knowledge helps us to make sure that the person adopting understands the characteristics of the dog they're interested in -- and sometimes, it enables us to help them make a more appropriate choice.
