Review for Homeward Bound of Marin, Novato, CA, USA
I have volunteered since 2008 on weekdays and help with lunches for staff, students, volunteers and on and off campus residents. This organization provides meals, support, safe housing, counseling and job training to homeless people who want to re-enter society as productive individuals. It is very rewarding to be a part of this organization! I especially like to be shopping and to see former residents working in the stores and restaurants and know that they are achieving their goals

Review for Homeward Bound of Marin, Novato, CA, USA
I have enjoyed helping with the Halo program - from cleaning the truffle pans, folding boxes, packing them for shipping, and selling them at various venues; and I've cut out the tops and made labels for the various breads and jams that are sold to help raise more money for Homeward Bound. I enjoy the cooking classes that are hosted by local chefs and I help daily by making bag lunches and assisting with the in house lunch program for the residents, volunteers and staff at Homeward Bound. It is very rewarding to be a part of an organization that does so much for so many people and one that creates jobs and does job training for so many and does these things in a way that helps it to support itself.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
I have learned more skills in the kitchen; I have met people who were dedicated and very professional.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
a wonderful addition to my life. I have enjoyed meeting the people who have been with the organization since it's beginning and they are still enthusiastic and eager to do as much as they are able.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
expand and accomodate more people. The way they have had a vision and have accomplished what they already have done is inspirational.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
About every week
