Review for The Wild Animal Sanctuary, Keenesburg, CO, USA
I first visited the Sanctuary in Sept. 2013 with my husband. It absolutely brought joy and tears to my eyes. I have a Denver Zoo membership. I still go to the zoo, but it will never have that lure that it had for me in the past. If it had not been for the sanctuary, I would never have known why the animals pace back and forth. We then visited the following week with my 83 year old mother. I haven't seen her smile that much in a long time. My husband and I returned again for two more weeks after that. Every time I visit it warms my heart and I cry each time, just out of pure joy of watching these beautiful animals roam freely. It has always been hard for me to comprehend that anyone could hurt any kind of animal. It is truly a place to relax and recharge for me. If I could live there, I would. Thank you so much Pat and family for doing such a wonderful thing for the animals and us humans.
