Review for Project Education Sudan, Denver, CO, USA
Project Education Sudan is an organization who values the relationships of all they serve. They work in partnership with and respect the decisions and perspectives of the community leaders they work together with. Their actions speak for them. They truly work toward promoting self sufficiency and sustainabilty and develop capable and strong Sudanese leadership in all they do. Their promotion of women's empowerment and focus on the girl child is a corner stone of their work. I find working with PES is a honor and has been a life changing experince for me. All they do is top drawer and executed with courtesy, respect and integrity.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
that they utilze each person's talents, make them feel they are a vital part of the organization and acknowlege your time, commitment and dedication.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Have an office outside of the ED's home, continue to have more Sudanese develpment here in the U. S. and in Sudan and get a donated office space.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The relationships with the wonderful people who volunteer with PES and especially the developing relationships with the local Sudanese and the Lost Boys and Girls who are an important and vital part of the organization.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Professional, friendly, educated, committed and excited to be with the organization.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Finish all 3 schools, set up a permanent teacher training program allowing Sudanese to be educated and trained as teachers, set up health care units in each school site, start an agricultural community garden program, set up college scholarships...& more!
Ways to make it better...
I had more time to commit. If PES had more resources for admin support and day to day functioning. The ED seems to work too hard !
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Volunteer, unpaid staff( except for a part time admin asst.) The organization does a great job filling the jobs with great interns from local universities, and the volunteers do a heart felt job! Also needs a fundraising professional to help raise more $$.
One thing I'd also say is that...
Given the organization is only going on 4 years old, they have established a very good reputation and known to do what they say they are going to do!
