Review for Self Enquiry Life Fellowship, Penn Valley, CA, USA
Swami Vidyadhishananda, the head of Swamahiman had been a childhood friend of mine. I had the good fortune to re-connect with His Lordship after a gap of 13 years. My association with Him and Swamahiman changed my life. Hailing from UK, I was not able to visit the headquarters of Swamahiman but I was able to observe the machinery at work. I was awestruck to see the dedication of the whole team who had temporarily relocated to Houston for the benefit of the devotees and were spending most hours of the day toiling to the highest standards for the benefit of the devotees. Swami was always available to talk to us, expounding the highest level of knowledge of the Vedas in simple words which we could understand. I was mesmerized by the well-being workshops where I learn how to lead my life simply and keep the body and mind together by making simple changes to the lifestyle. Being a doctor, there were so many things I was not aware of which Swami taught us that it did really change my life. At no point of time did I feel that his message was targeted to a small group of people from the Indian subcontinent but was offered for the whole humanity at large. We were so lucky to have him amongst us in the west as it is impossible to get someone of his level to come out in the open away from the Himalayas.
I had the opportunity to visit the headquarters of the organisation and stay with Swami in the spring of 2010 and that did open my eye. I saw the functioning of this well oiled machine which ran on nothing but divine Grace. I was able to interact with the volunteers, visitors, devotees and the board members. It was difficult to fathom what materiel they were all made up of and what their intentions were. Every one was working not to make any short term gain or cheap publicity but working under the expert guidance of the Swami with vedic principles to establish a legacy which was not going to survive the next 10 years but the next 1000 years. Swami was laying the foundation of Swamahiman to last into the year 3000 and stabilizing California and the rest of America along with it. He would toil hard to get all the protocols right, made no compromises and was setting an example in every walks of life. How to eat, how to speak, how to read, how to teach, every single aspect of life of his devotees was important to Him and nothing was out of bound. I saw the members work with almost no funds and still achieve impossible feats. Swami who was able to raise so much money by various means adopted by ‘Gurus’ of today refrained from any such activities. All donations and fund raising was done in a completely honorable and way prescribed in the scriptures. I was desperately trying to convince them to adopt other means but today I realize how wrong I was to think like that.
I have been associated with Swamahiman for little over 4 years and have realized what the value of this organisation is and could be to the world. I do feel a bit sad to realize that such an important and blessed person with so much to give but so few takers around. I live in the hope that one day America will realize its good fortune in having Swami Vidyadhishananda and Swamahiman in its soil.
I feel so blessed to have been with Him and his devotees in the Mount Madonna center last week.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
... get the rest of the world somehow and make them hear Swami Vidyadhishanada. If not i would persuade Swamahiman to somehow find a way to spread the message of Swami and make it available to the common man in the street. I would try to convince the organisation to make transcripts of all his lectures and make it into journal which could be made available to people to read at regular intervals.
