My Nonprofit Reviews

DJB
Review for Society of St. Andrew, Big Island, VA, USA
I am so humbled by the opportunity to glean for food for hungry and less fortunate people. I experienced hunger as a child growing up in Charlotte, NC. In addition, this has been a learning experience for me. According to the book of Ruth in the bible, Ruth gleaned in the fields that belonged to Boaz and I learned where the tradition originated. Also all the volunteers appeared to have a great passion to help feed the hungry.I would like to see more young people volunteer. We live in a country where there is so much waste, especially in our schools.
