Review for Project Hawai'i, Inc., Kea'au, HI, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My experience doesn't seem much different from others who wrote review, but I know that without the help Magin provides hundreds of children would go without basic needs like clothing, food, shelter, hygiene products. One step further, she doesn't just give them a hand out, but makes them feel loved and cared for. First hand I have helped make a difference by volunteering at activities provided throughout the year. One thing I am noticed about her events that I think really make a difference. At the parties children are able to play games that are made to "win". This helps build self-esteem and allows the children to take items they need with them. She does give fun stuff, but most everything given is useful and very much needed. For example, some prizes include shampoo, toothbrushes, soap bars, or healthy snacks. This is a very vital step to teaching children about their own personal care. My experience as a volunteer has been wonderful, and as a donor I know that my money goes directly to services and seems to stretch more than I imagined.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

volunteering and donating. I have seen the changes in the childrens lives and how happy they are after the events.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

definately find a way to get more donations to make the efforts even reach further to more children in need.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

knowing I make a difference.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

all very nice, just not enough to really make it run smooth without the few who do show up to work so hard.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

truly change the islands homelessness problems. Ending homelessness is Magins next step, if she were funded it would be smooth sailing for her.

Ways to make it better...

this program was able to get better volunteers to help with all the steps leading up to the events.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

lack of funding and lack of volunteers with passion to match Magins.

One thing I'd also say is that...

without this program hundreds and hundreds of children would go without lifes simple life basics.
