Review for Wolf Conservation Center Inc, South Salem, NY, USA
I know the Wolf Conservation Center from several vantage points. My first experience was as a visitor to the center. The programs I attended were interesting and comprehensive and I got to see the amazing and inspiring ambassador wolves! That knocked the program out of the park. Later, I went back as an author. I wrote several stories about wolves and the staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and answered my endless questions. (And I got to see the wolves again!) Later, I started to volunteer at the center. I live far away, but try to get there as often as I can to help with on and off site programs. It is a truly unique environment nestled in South Salem, NY. The full time staff (of which there are not many) and volunteers are like a family. Their dedication to the wolves and their commitment to educating the public about the lives and benefits of wolves as part of a balanced ecosystem is stellar. As well as offering their education program, they are active members of the Species Survival Programs for the Mexican Gray and Red Wolves, two of the most vulnerable wolf species in the world. This non-profit is a jewel among jewels.
