As an intern at the WCC this past summer, I gained the opportunity to work with an amazing group of dedicated staff members and countless loyal volunteers. My excitement to get to work each day was unyielding; I could not wait to arrive to help out such a spectacular place in any way possible. The people at the center are incredible and it is immediately evident that the wolves come first above all else. The WCC is driven by passionate team who strive to educate visitors, as well as the community (local and global), about the important roles wolves play in the natural ecosystem. Their programs are conducted with contagious enthusiasm, honest information, and a sense of humor. Offering a variety of programs and events, the WCC has something for every visitor - and it is guaranteed to be a memorable trip. Visitors leave with a sense of awe as well as a sense of purpose, newly educated on how they can help with these conservation efforts.
Back at school, as a Wildlife Conservation major, my peers regularly get an earful about my time spent at the WCC this summer. As with most volunteers and visitors of the WCC, I left with a desire to come back as soon as I could. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have visited such an extraordinary place, let alone had the opportunity to work there. I cannot wait to go back.
