Review for Junior Achievement of New York, New York, NY, USA
I have been teaching JA programs for at least 10 years. These programs are intended to provide a business perspective in economics at the students' level of understanding. In simpler terms I've taught JA programs to 2nd graders up to High School seniors. Students enjoy JA classes because the classes are more than "book learning". Every class in a given curriculum requires a student activity and the young folks greatly enjoy these activities. Of course as the students participate in the activity they learn the subject matter and enjoy doing so. I know the JA programs are rewarding to the students. If it isn't obvious, observing the student's progress and understanding is very rewarding to me. JA does a great job with the curriculum materials. These materials make all the difference in the world. The JA staff handles the logistics of interfacing with the schools to set up the classes and do an excellent job in their foundation roles.
