Review for Adopt a Greyhound Atlanta Inc, Stone Mtn, GA, USA
I have adopted 3 dogs thru Adopt a Greyhound Atlanta and the experience has been wonderful. My last greyhound was still racing when I met him and with the help of this amazing organization I was able to adopt him when he retired. This is a picture of him while he was racing. I actually got to met him at a breeder/trainer's farm.

I am extremely happy with Adopt a Greyhound Atlanta. In the past year I have added 2 new greyhounds to my family from Carl. My pack is now at 4. Carl is extremely knowledgeable about the breed and is there to answer any questions at any hour. He is so dedicated to the breed that he has not had a day off or vacation in the past 5 years that I have known him. I am always amazed at how much he devotes to the care and rehoming of these wonderful animals, and how much time he spends educating people about the breed.

My sister and I moved to Georgia 3 years ago. We owned 3 greyhounds and when we came to Atlanta to look for a home we first met Carl Viener and Adopt a Greyhound Atlanta. He took wonderful care of our dogs while we looked for a home. Sadly before we moved here one of our greyhounds passed away. After moving to Atlanta area, we started going to Meet and Greets and learned to love the people with this organization. Soon we began volunteering to assist with the new greyhounds that arrived. This is the best adoption center I have had the pleasure of working with. We adopted a new greyhound in 2011 and unfortunately she broke her back in a freak accident. Carl was willing to come to our home and assist me with getting her to a vet so she was no longer in pain and a painful decision to put her down was made. He is such a caring man and loves the greyhounds so much. He worries about each and every one of them. I have seen him go out of his way to make sure a greyhound is found, if lost; rescued if at a shelter; or gotten the care needed if injured. He has done this job for over 30 years without a vacation or a day off. He has a very small volunteer group who are devoted to helping him. I can not speak any higher of this organization and wish there were more that cared about the greyhounds instead making decisions for the people thinking that they know who can and cannot adopt a dog because they do not meet the rigid standards that they have set. Good owners are not always, rich, do not always keep the best house, or live in the best part of town, Good owners take good care of the dog and love it with all their heart.
