About 3 years ago our son lost his kidneys, due to diabetes. This required him to go on dialysis 3 days a week for four and a half hours. About a year and a half later, after siblings, family members and some friends were eliminated as donors, we were led to the Matching Donors website. It took almost 10 months of correspondence with a number of possibilities for us to find the perfect match. This altruistic young man lives in Seattle WA, 2600 miles away. He was willing to make two round trips, totaling 10,000 miles in order to be a donor for our son. I do not believe that we would have met this wonderful person without the help of Matching Donors. It is considered to be a miracle by me, my husband, our family and many friends and associates.
