My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Society of St. Andrew, Big Island, VA, USA
The Society of St. Andrew is a wonderful organization ensuring that food does not fallow in the fields. Instead, it saves food from going to waste and gets it to those most in need of fresh produce in the local community. SOSA operates with minimal staff and overhead costs to maximize the impact it has as a non-profit. As a mom of young children, I have spent much time trying to find opportunities for my children to serve their community. SOSA manages to include large groups, individuals, families, and small groups in their gleanings, and all ages are welcome and encouraged to serve. It is a powerful message to see young and old working together to conserve food and help others. SOSA has given a great gift to my family by providing a meaningful way for us to help our neighbors.
