Review for Girls Inc of Orange County, Costa Mesa, CA, USA
Girls Incorporated of Orange County serves over 4,600 girls ages 4 1/2 to 18 annually throughout Orange County, including their center in Costa Mesa. The staff is well educated, kind, funny and always pushing themselves to be better; It appears they don't expect anything less from the girls they serve. They encourage the girls in the program to do better in school, succeed in life and have fun doing it by providing educational and enrichment programs like STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Great organization; great cause:To inspire all girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold!
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the positive attitude used to encourage learning. The girls are flourishing as a result of the year-round research based comprehensive programs offered at the center and outreach sites throughout Orange County.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Create a capital campaign to provide a new building where the classrooms are all together and the staff has a quiet work area.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The girls have a place to go where they are accepted, encouraged to meet challenges, and learn in a positive way. They are happy to come and I love seeing their self-esteem and self-confidence shine.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
The staff and volunteers were enthusiastic, interacted with the kids, sat beside them when they needed help, twirled the jumprope on the play yard, and greets them with respect by name and with a smile.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
If this organization had 10 million dollars it could have a facilities that could serve as many girls that need our services. It would also provide transportation and staff to continue to serve the most underserved communities in Orange County.
Ways to make it better...
The buildings were in better shape. There are multiple buildings on the center site and they are small and old. The building has been in existence since the late 1950's and is in need of a serious overhaul.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Someone to come forward and offer the fianncial backing to make this happen.
One thing I'd also say is that...
It is a strong affiliate of Girls Inc. National organization that has been providing enrichment programs for all girls throughout Orange County since 1954.
