Review for Junior Achievement of New York, New York, NY, USA
As the Dean of Student Services at Brooklyn Preparatory High School and as someone who has worked with Junior Achievement of New York since the 2007-2008 school year, I cannot speak highly enough of Junior Achievement. Since partnering with Brooklyn Prep in 2007, Junior Achievement has successfully served at least a quarter of our entire student body each year by exposing them to a wide variety of workplace experiences. Our partnership started when when our original JANY representative, Corrine Serrano, brought to us volunteers from Digitas to teach a Success Skills curriculum, through which our students were able to learn the fundamentals of professional demeanor, attitude, and presentation. Through our current representative, Julie Ougheltree our partnership, has grown to include Job Shadows, a Business Plan Competition, a High School Heroes Program in which our students teach elementary school students for a day, and soon, a Career Success program. Brooklyn Prep has been lucky to have Junior Achievement as a partner for 6 years and we look forward to continuing to growing our partnership in the future.
